OptiWand Bullseye Pincher Hard contact lens tools

Helpful Tips

Applying Eye Drops Prior to Insertion and Removal is a MUST!

You MUST Insert Lenses Rapidly to prevent the lens from

SHRIVELING and sticking to the OptiWand®.

This will be difficult to use Without proper Lubrication and moving quickly.

Lubrication is a MUST as lenses dry rapidly out of solution.

TRY Both Ends to insert lenses as you may prefer one side better than other.

Many have a natural reaction to an object

approaching the eye and look up.

The OptiWand® may not work if you cannot look

directly at the center hole of the wand.

Step 1: Applying Eye Drops Prior to Insertion and Removal is a MUST!

Dip your OptiWand® in Contact Lens solution for lubrication

Step 2: Position your HARD or SOFT contact lens on the center of

FULL OR SPLIT CUP SIDE of the OptiWand®

Smaller soft lenses can be inserted using the SPLIT CUP end.

Step 3: Using your non-dominant hand spread your eye lids as wide as possible, keeping your eyelashes out of the way.

Step 4: Draw the OptiWand® to your eye by focusing on the contact lens, colored wand or CENTER HOLE to align properly

*Aiming the OptiWand® at a colored background or light will help some to focus on the CENTER HOLE*

Step 5: Once the contact lens touches your eye,

TWIST the OptiWand® to help release the lens.

FAQ for soft contact lens insertion

Q: I am using smaller lenses and the FULL CUP side is too large for the lens, what can I do?

A: You can use the SPLIT CUP SIDE to insert and remove smaller soft lenses as well. Try both ends to see which works best for you.

The Split Cup is designed for large lenses & hybrids for insertion but can be used for some smaller

soft lenses in the same method as other soft lenses are inserted.

Q: Why will the wand hold the soft lens during insertion when I look up like I always do?

A: OptiWand® is designed to place the lens directly on the cornea where the lenses rest naturally.

OptiWand® will NOT RELEASE the soft lens unless you focus on the

contact lens, colored wand or CENTER hole and use it to

place the lens on the cornea where it rests after you give the

OptiWand® a slight twist to help release the lens.

Applying Eye Drops Prior to Insertion and Removal is a MUST!

If you look up, down or to the side the OptiWand®

will hold the soft lens and it won’t come off easily or at all.

Some find it helps to pinch the Full Cup very high on the base

during insertion to allow the lens to release to the eye.
